THE Hammond organ was invented in the early 30s by a former music-loving watchmaker, Laurens Hammond (1895 - 1973), with the aim of finding an economic and practical alternative to the mammoth and very expensive pipe organs for the Catholic Churches. ![]() ![]() We discover in this article the “reinvention of the… tonal wheel”.
